Dimitri and Ashe fatefully meet one summer, first on the boardwalk and then over a spilled Slushie and a mutual attraction. Together, the two of them try to overcome their hangups--Dimitri struggles with accepting and moving past the death of his father; Ashe believes fiercely in true love but is unsure as to whether or not he deserves it--to achieve some kind of happiness. Others in their immediate group of friends also struggle with life changes and coming to terms with their own relationships and issues with the backdrop of the beach at summertime
